YouTube Advances AI Tools for Creators While Combating Deepfakes
YouTube is rolling out AI-generated content tools designed to help creators scale their presence, including the ability to produce Shorts using their own likeness. CEO Neal Mohan confirmed the features will launch this year, with YouTube Shorts already averaging 200 billion daily views.
The platform is expanding its AI toolkit with image posts, auto-dubbing, and likeness detection to combat unauthorized deepfakes. Over 1 million channels used YouTube's AI creation tools daily in December, signaling strong adoption.
Parental controls and Shorts time limits are also being enhanced as part of broader platform updates. A YouTube spokesperson noted additional details on the AI features' rollout will be shared soon.
